Terms of Service

Allgemeine Geschäftsbedingungen

Last updated: April 2025

1. Operator and Scope

These Terms of Service govern the use of cvlink.app, operated by:

Timothy Peter Todd
Friedrich Ebert Ring 31
97072 Würzburg, Germany
Email: hello@cvlink.app

By using cvlink.app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Service Description

cvlink.app is an AI-powered portfolio generation service. You upload a CV in PDF format, configure parsing options, select a design template, and receive a publicly accessible portfolio page hosted at a unique URL (e.g. yourname.cv.link).

The service includes:

  • AI-powered extraction and structuring of CV data
  • Preview of your portfolio page before payment
  • One-time generation and hosting of your portfolio page
  • A unique, permanent public URL for your page

The service does not include: user accounts, post-purchase editing, custom domains, or ongoing support beyond the initial generation.

3. Pricing and Payment

The service is provided for a one-time fee of €29.99. As a Kleinunternehmer pursuant to § 19 UStG, no VAT is charged.

Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We accept major credit and debit cards. Payment is due at the time of purchase. Your portfolio page is deployed only after successful payment.

You will receive a payment confirmation by email. Please retain this as your receipt.

4. Right of Withdrawal

Waiver of Right of Withdrawal: As a consumer within the EU, you ordinarily have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving any reason (§ 312g BGB).

However, pursuant to § 356 Abs. 5 BGB and Art. 16(m) of the Consumer Rights Directive, this right expires once the digital content delivery has commenced with your explicit prior consent and acknowledgement that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal.

By completing payment and checking the corresponding box at checkout, you expressly request immediate commencement of the service and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal is forfeited upon the start of delivery.

Consumers located outside the EU are not subject to EU withdrawal rights; local consumer protection laws may apply.

5. Your Obligations

By using cvlink.app you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old or have parental consent.
  • The CV you upload is your own and you have the right to share its contents.
  • The content of your CV does not violate any applicable law, third-party rights, or our acceptable use policy.
  • You will not use the service to generate content that is defamatory, discriminatory, fraudulent, or illegal.

We reserve the right to remove portfolio pages that violate these conditions without refund.

6. Availability

We aim to keep cvlink.app and generated portfolio pages available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, technical issues, or third-party outages may temporarily affect access.

7. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of your CV content and the data derived from it. By using the service you grant cvlink.app a limited, non-exclusive licence to process and display your CV data solely for the purpose of providing the service.

The cvlink.app platform, templates, and software remain the intellectual property of Timothy Peter Todd. You may not copy, reproduce, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, cvlink.app is not liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
  • Inaccuracies in the AI-parsed output — please review your preview carefully before payment.
  • Loss of data due to technical failure beyond our reasonable control.
  • Third-party service outages (Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, Anthropic).

Our liability for direct damages is limited to the amount you paid for the service. Mandatory statutory liability (e.g. for intentional misconduct or personal injury) is unaffected.

9. Changes to the Service and Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be published on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) does not apply. If you are a consumer within the EU, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence.

The place of jurisdiction for merchants and legal entities is Würzburg, Germany.

11. Dispute Resolution

The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution (ODR) platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr

We are neither obligated nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. Contact us directly at hello@cvlink.app to resolve any issues.
